In April, we traveled to my hometown of Hillsboro to view the total solar eclipse. With both our moms and my sister we spent a few days enjoying one another’s company waiting on the just over four minutes in totality.

While we were waiting for the big show, our cousin Bryanne texted that she and her friend Stacy were driving up from Beaumont to find a spot to see the eclipse, so they joined us on my mother”s deck for the main event.
The silence that descended upon us as the eclipse began was eerie. The birds went quiet and it seemed like the Earth stood still. So we broke the silence with a toast to the wonders of the world.
